Each year we celebrate the end of summer with Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Bash. What better time to celebrate than on Queen’s Birthday Weekend.

The Birthday Bash raised $5,520 for the Picton Emergency Operations Centre in 2010 and in 2011 we raised $1700 for a Christchurch family impacted on by the Earthquakes. We're on the look out for next year's charity at the moment.

The original Queen Charlotte was born on May 19, 1744 and was married to mad King George III. She had 15 children, was keen patron of the arts and loved botany. The famous Royal Botanical Gardens at Key flourished under her personal support. Her letters show her to be an intelligent, compassionate, thoughtful woman and a true and loyal friend, a splendid example of a lady of character.

What better reason to celebrate Queen Charlotte, both the lady, New Zealand’s wonderful walking track and the stretch of spectacular water in Queen Charlotte Sound.
